# Who owns the sending domain when marketing and product share it?

*@ravi-shah | Deliverability | 12 days ago*

Marketing wants to send from hello@ on the root. Product already sends password mail from the same domain through [Resend](https://resend.com). [SendGrid](https://sendgrid.com) is on a subdomain for blasts. Someone suggested putting [Brew](https://brew.new) live sends on the root too.

I will die on this hill: campaign mail does not get the root if transactional mail already lives there. Split the subdomain or share the outage.

**linh.t** (221 votes): Subdomain per job. mail. for product. news. for campaigns. Do not let a Black Friday blast teach Gmail to distrust password resets.

**nadia.k** (130 votes): Brew live sends need a verified customer domain anyway. Use news. and stop arguing about the root.
